Filippo Loreti Okeanos Diver Watch – Updated Review 2024

Looking for an updated 2024 review of the Filippo Loreti brand?

Then you may be interested to hear about if they are worth the buy.

One of their new divers called the Okeanos has taken the brand into a new direction away from their staple dress watches to something both sporty and elegant.

So how does it stack up to their other lines and other watches on the market at that price range?

lets find out!

A detailed look at the Okeanos diver

The Okeanos measures 42mm wide and 12mm thick.

Its case is made of industrial-grade 316L stainless steel similar to many other watch brands on the market, and oh, there’s no second hand on this diver?

We will get into that in the design section below.

The Okeanos has a stainless steel bracelet in grey to match the case’s theme and feels a little light to touch for my liking but redeems itself with a two-tone brushed finish.

The clasp fairs better on the bracelet and feels firm like a diver clasp should feel like.

The watch features a unidirectional rotating bezel with an orange highlight in the first 15-minute area and the rest of the bezel is grey with Arabic numeral markers in 10-minute progressions.

The click of the rotating bezel is pronounced and easy to rotate it evenly without the bezel wobbling about, although little back play, it wasn’t a deal-breaker for a watch at this price point.

The Okeanos dial is protected with a sapphire-coated mineral crystal for a scratch-resistant for any accidental bumps and falls and has an anti-reflective coating to make the watch face easily visible even under direct sunlight.

The watch is water-resistant up to 100 meters.

It’s good for casual swimming and snorkelling, but never for diving and other intense deep-water activities.

One thing to note about Filippo Loreti as a brand, they provide a 10-year international warranty to their watches, covering repairs and replacements which is pretty good for a low cost watch such as this.

Design and Movement

The orange, silver, and grey color combinations featured on the Okeanos give the watch a sporty appeal with a touch of elegance.

The overall design makes the watch highly versatile as it can be worn with casual, sports, or business attire.

The crown has a ribbed side for easier gripping.

It’s engraved with the trident of Oceanus for added artistry.

The crown is protected by solid crown guards to prevent accidentally moving the crown when underwater or wriggling around under your cuff.

The Okeanos has a solid case back with beautiful artwork of the Oceanus, the Titan god of earth’s freshwater reservoir engraved.

On the dial, you’ll find silver indices for hour markers and sword-shaped hands.

Both the hour markers and the hands are filled with luminescent material for enhanced visibility at night.

But where did the second hand go?

You may be wondering how is this meant to be a diver watch if the seconds hand missing?

This is an interesting juxtaposition of the traditional diving watch design, so with that in mind that this is a stylistic decision that’s probably not for the application of pro diving.

Do I like it?

the combination of dress watch meets diver, and some way mashing those together to create a novel look that challenges the traditional diving watch conventions is a great idea.

After all, many divers made by brands like Seiko or Rolex today will never meet their true underwater depths in a professional setting.

The Okeanos houses a Miyota 2025 quartz movement which is measured to have an accuracy of +/- 20 seconds per month.

Its battery life lasts up to 3 years of continuous usage which is the average for quartz watches.

Who is the Okeanos for?

The Okeanos from Filippo Loreti is for those who want a watch that’s both sporty and elegant.

Its versatile design makes it suitable to wear with casual, sports, or even business attire which makes it an all round fine watch to wear.

So If you’re looking into a versatile budget watch and the Okeanos a good option to consider.

The Okeanos is priced around $160 to $220, so it’s within the budget of many users.t watch that features a different color theme you often see on timepieces.
