Steampunk Pocket Watch Runs ‘Green’
The EER Patent Solar Powered Turbine Steampunk Fob Watch has been described as “a blast from the past.” Perhaps a more appropriate description is “a watch that never was.” Steampunk is a sub-genre of science fiction, fantasy, alternate history, and speculative fiction. Steampunk involves a setting in which steam power is still widely used—usually Victorian-era Britain or “Wild West”-era United States—that incorporates elements of either science fiction or fantasy. The EER Patent Solar Powered Turbine Steampunk Fob Watch, created by Ezekiel Empire Rosenstein of Alchemy Jewelry, takes Steampunk-ware to a new level by adding a twenty-first-century green twist. The watch winding mechanism is “somewhat” solar. Unlike traditional solar devices that get their power via a battery, this watch has two turbine blades that spin when exposed to sunlight.
